Renee Kathleen Zellweger

Renee Kathleen Zellweger, was born in Katy, Texas on April 25 in 1969. Her mother, Kjellfrid (Andreassen) is an ex-nurse and midwife born in Norway. Kven (Finnish), and is also of Swedish and Norwegian descent. Her father, Emil Erich Zellweger, is a Swiss-born engineer. They were became married in 1963. Renee has a brother named Drew Zellweger, a marketing executive who was born on the 15th of February, 1967. Renee was part of the drama group at high school when she began to become fascinated by acting. She took an acting class at University of Texas (Austin) and started to think about acting as a profession. After graduating, she wanted to pursue acting but Hollywood isn't an easy city to get into, and so Renee determined to stay in Texas and auditioned for roles in Houston which she was able to land roles in films such as Reality Bites (1994) and Empire Records (1995). Matthew McConaughey (another Hollywood rising star) was her friend while she was on set of Texas Chainsaw Massacre II: The Next Generation (1994). Renee was aware that he was working on a project and auditioned. The role was given to her in Love as well as an offer of a 45 (1994). The film was a huge success and earned her the respect of many that she decided to move to Los Angeles. A second role in The Whole Wide World (1996) followed which led to her breakthrough. Cameron Crowe was busy casting Jerry Maguire (1996) in which she starred Tom Cruise. Crowe was considering actresses such as Cameron Diaz, Bridget Fonda, Winona Ryder, and Marisa Tomei, until the actor Zellweger was featured in The Whole Wide World (1996). He auditioned Zellweger, and felt certain he had found the perfect Dorothy Boyd. After her successes in a handful of independent movies, Renee felt confident enough to go back to the big-budget Hollywood film industry. Meryl Streep was the co-star in One True Thing (1998). She also starred in Me, Myself & Irene (2000) in a role opposite Jim Carrey and shortly after began dating Carrey. Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) was her first film in the title role.
